Our Destination

Today really is the the last NASA gallery that I will be sharing with you. My husband teased me yesterday that it is looking like a week long special on space around here (he has been following along, yay). And while I do agree that it is a little NASA heavy around here I have to say that it could use a little more for my tastes.

Between my thirteen and sixteenth birthday I was convinced that I would be an astronaut. It wasn’t a possibility, or an options, it was the truth. I studied everything that I could find about the subject and worked toward improving my grades. It, life, didn’t work out like that. And I can’t say that I am sorry. A lot happened in those three years. Much of which helped me advance in life, grow as a person and become the mother that I am today.

Would I take a trip up? Not any more. I have a family here on earth. I couldn’t imagine leaving them behind. It must be hard for those on the ISS, long durations in space which must feel like worlds apart.

Enjoy the photos, they are a bit of a hodgepodge today. But I was in a little bit of a hurry. Motherly tasks had to be attended to.

PS: In the event that you want more photos of space missions past and present you can find them on nasa.gov. There are also some interesting projects on esa.int which is the European Space Agency.
